Choosing an aviation camp starts with your child, not the most impressive-sounding program name. DuBois Aviation has separate pages for JR Pilots, Aviation Summer Camp, and Advanced Aviation Camp. Use those pages as conversation starters with the school, then confirm which option fits your child’s age, experience, and readiness.

For a first introduction: ask about JR Pilots

The official JR Pilots page ↗ describes airplane basics, simulator practice, STEM projects, an airport tour, a museum tour, and an airplane flight on the final class. Ask which ages the current program accepts and how each activity is adapted for its participants.

Think about your child’s comfort with a new group, unfamiliar sounds, and adult instructions. Ask staff how they support a hesitant newcomer and how parents receive updates. A clear answer can help you picture the day more accurately than a program label alone.

For a broader camp experience: review Summer Camp

Use Explore DuBois Aviation’s official camp page ↗ to see the school’s current outline. Ask how classroom time, simulator time, and flying are arranged across the session. Discuss what previous experience, if any, is expected and what your child should be ready to do independently.

Keep expectations specific: what is included, what depends on weather, and what happens if a student misses a day? Request the current details rather than transferring an older camper’s experience to a new session.

For a returning student: discuss Advanced Camp

DuBois also publishes an Advanced Aviation Camp registration page ↗. Its current heading references 2026. Ask the school to explain prerequisites, current curriculum, available sessions, and how the program differs from the introductory options.

A returning camper may be eager to do more, but interest alone does not establish eligibility. Share the child’s actual experience and ask what the instructors recommend. Avoid assuming an advanced program guarantees a particular skill level or certification.

Bring the same five questions to every option

  1. Is my child eligible for this specific session?
  2. What activities and instruction are included?
  3. How are weather changes and missed days handled?
  4. What is the complete cost and cancellation policy?
  5. What should we do before the first day?

As of October 28, 2026, the pages reviewed do not establish a confirmed 2027 schedule. Contact DuBois for the next available session before making travel or childcare arrangements.

Start with Explore DuBois Aviation’s official camp page ↗, then ask the team which program best matches your child.
